Dehli India

Temple Dehli India

Second day in this mad city. Kaos, car horns, cows, smells, meetings, all the senses are awake walking through this human jungle.
I spent the first day with an official tourist guide> I figured it's be a good way to get a first feel of the city. The guide, called Om was accompanied with his nephew, a smart kid of around 12 years old. We went through temples, as Om did prayers and venerations to every deity. Diety on posters, dieties sculpted in marble, painted on wood, in intricate mosaic glass works. Hindu dieties and a Buddha, all is sacred in India.

Meetings can be as numerous as one wants, especially as a woman walking alone. A Sihk man explains his religion, the 5 K's, a catholic one tells me about his point of view of the 32 000 gods of India. God takes many faces they say.

The streets are packed, with all colors and dresses. All categories of people walk about their day. Slowly.

Hanunan Temple
In the Temples, little alcoves are dedicated to various gods. In each alcove a priest is there, putting a dot of color on the forehead. Greys and reds paints your forehead.

Hanunan Temple
Om, my guide told me a hundred stories. Each with it's morals, each with it's faces.

Now is time for dinner, so shanti shanti:)
