Anything Goes Opening Night!

 Another Openin', Another Show!

Hey Everyone!

Again, sorry for not posting an entry sooner.  I am now out in sunshiney Arizona!  It's beautiful.  Every day I wake up the sun is shining.  I have been here for 3 weeks now.  For the first two weeks we were in triple digit heat.  Just this week the temperature has lowered and now we are in the 90's.  It's so great.  I can't believe it's October and I can still go lay out by the pool.

I am having a great time.  We open the show tonight which I am very excited about.  I enjoy opening shows, because that means...no more rehearsals, which means MORE free time.  So I will finally have time to get into my workout routine again, and lay out by the pool.

The living situation is so wonderful.  I live in a townhouse with two other castmates.  It's sort of 3 stories high.  2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, nice big kitchen, living room, dining room, balcony.  It's great.  The apartment complex literally is an 8 minute walk away from the theatre AND a 5 minute walk from CHICK-FIL-A and TARGET!  I know! I have eaten so much Chick-Fil-A recently. Aiy!

There is so much around here though that is in walking distance including a mall and numerous restaurants.  I believe they say that we are in the Chain Restaurant capital of the US. Ha.  It would make sense to me.  PF Chang's, Cheesecake Factory, In & Out Burger, Panda Express, Chick-Fil-A, Fridays, Olive Garden, Red Robin, Tilted Kilt, Applebee's, Chilis, Pei Wei, Jack In The Box, Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Del Taco, Sweet Tomatoes, Chipotle, Sonic, and MANY MANY MORE!

I guess this isn't a great thing, considering that I love to eat out so often.  I tried buying groceries, and it has worked somewhat...but these wonderful restaurants are just so conveniently located.  Oiy! I guess I just need to hit up the gym more often.  Our apartment complex has a beautiful & huge swimming pool and hot tub.  It also has a workout facility which is great.

As for the show and cast itself, were having a good time.  My roomate Andy is a good guy.  Our cast has 25 people in it.  Some are from New York and some are hired locally.  It's fun to be tap dancing again.  I haven't tapped in so long, so it feels good.  I do alot in the show.  I am a sailor, so I have alot of random crosses onstage, enter here, enter there, take this there, whistle at a girl here, yada yada yada.  So I don't get much time to rest during the show.  The last show I did I had many breaks where I could just chill out backstage for a bit before my next enterance...but not this show.  I'm doing alot of running around.  Yikes!

We are trying to organize some trips to some places while we are here in AZ.  Thinking of checking out Phoenix, Flagstaff, Sedona, and trying to make a trip to Vegas.  I have already been to the Grand Canyon twice, so I probably won't tag along if the cast goes.

I am really looking forward to seeing the movie NINE when it comes out in November.  It's being directed by the same director who directed Chicago.  It's another movie musical, but it looks good.  I also am looking forward to the movie called THE BLIND SIDE.  It's with Sandra Bullock, but it looks really good.  Here is a link to the previews of the two movies...Check them out! :)

Okay, anyways, that's enough from me.  I hope you all are enjoying the fall weather wherever you may be.  I will be sure to keep you posted on my Arizona adventures.

GO BUCKEYES!
