Well folks, last night we officially learned our last bit of choreography for the show! It feels so good to have all of it in our brains. Now I just have to figure out how to pull it all back out! Alot of it is still fuzzy, but again, I don't open until the 8th. So I have plenty of time. We will continue to clean until our put in rehearsal on Wednesday. We also have a put in tonight of the finale again with the entire cast, so that should be helpful.
As for my day off! Ryan and I took a trip out to Arizona to take a look at that big hole in the ground. The Grand Canyon. We rented a car because we didn't want to take our own. It probably ended up being a good thing because at one point we were driving on a dirt road for over 14 miles! It took us about 2 1/2 hours to get there. The road trip was alot of fun. We drove by Lake Mead and also drove across the Hoover Dam. Also along the way we passed through the desert. It was so funny driving along and seeing nothing for miles. Every now and again you would see a LITTLE town, but it looked really run down, like in the movies. It kept reminding me of The Hills Have Eyes! Once we arrived at the Grand Canyon West Rim, we got out to see what this place had to offer. There were mini airplanes and tons of Helicopters taking off and landing constantly. This was basically a mini airport. We got in line to purchase our tickets into the park. They had many different packages to choose from. Ranging from 50 bucks up to 199 bucks. The most expensive being a helicopter ride. I believe all of them included a meal. We ended up purchasing the next to cheapest option. This included 2 different view points of the canyon, our meal, and a walk out on the Sky Walk. The Sky Walk is basically a glass bridge (Loop) that hovers out over the canyon about 2,000 feet up in the air. The floor of the walk is glass so you can look straight down. It took a minute to get adjusted. My hands were sweaty. Before you go onto the walk, you have to go through security, and leave all of your belongings in the lockers, including your cameras, bags, and cell phones. Before walking on to the bridge they give you these "nurse like" slippers to put over your shoes to prevent scratching on the glass. Also at this stop they had some Indians playing some music and we got to look at some of the houses that the Indians used to live in. Our next stop was called Guano Point. At this stop is where we ate our lunch; which included bbq beef, a chicken breast, cole slaw, corn on the cob, corn bread, desert, and bottled water. After we stuffed our faces we headed off to take some more pictures. This was the most beautiful spot of the trip. You could get up REALLY close to the edge of the canyon and look over. You could literally fall right off. We saw some spectacular views not only of the canyon but of the Colorado River down below. We left in the morning at around 10:00am and arrived back home around 8:00pm. It was a long day, but a trip that was well needed. I am so glad that I got to visit this natural wonder. It was an amazing site. It cost $75.00 for our ticket, but again...it's the Grand Canyon. So oh well, I didn't mind.
I am off to get a few things done now before rehearsal. Today is a pretty long day for us.
