Hello Everyone! Happy January! I hope everyone's new year starting off well! Guess who turns 24 soon! Me! At the end of the month! Almost a quarter of a century old!
Well I only have a quick update!
On Wednesday of last week...our elevators broke! Yes! So our first show of the night was cancelled! It was amazing! At 7:15pm (the show starts at 7:30) we were told that we were at a 15 minute hold for the elevators...meaning that our show was going to start at 7:45. However, at 7:45 it was a no go. Finally a little before 8:00 they let the audience know that there wasn't going to be a show. So! We all put on our jackets and all headed over to Planet Hollywood for a few hours. It was great!
On Thursday I didn't actually go to work! I wanted to go! But I couldn't! And NO it wasn't a vacation day. Well, I went to the doctors on Thursday afternoon to get some pictures taken of my hip. It was an arthrogram on my hip joint! I was expecting a simple MRI...but no IT HURT! Ha! I had to have my roomate drive me home. The doctors told me that I would not be able to dance that night. I was so disappointed. Anyways I went along with the procedure. They stuck me with a needle to help ease with the pain, and then came the long needle. They poked it down into my thigh (avoiding the major artery down there) and it went down near my hip joint. They then inserted the fluid (dye) and as they did this my hip felt like it was blowing up like a water balloon. It hurt so bad. A numb, water balloon filled hip does not feel good! They wanted me to move my hip around so the dye would move...but I couldnt even bend my knee! Ha! I was for sure holding back that curse words! It was a really uncomfortable feeling. Anyways, the pain lasted throughout the evening. I hobbled around and it didn't go away until saturday afternoon. So I know have the films. I go to the doctor on Tuesday and he will review the films to see if anything is wrong.
Lastly! I started volunteering! I have so much time on my hands here in Vegas. All I do is two shows a day and go to the gym! That's pretty much what every day is like. Except on Fridays I don't have shows and I usually don't go to the gym. So since I had the extra time I started volunteering at the www.nevadaspca.org It is a no kill animal shelter here in town. I basically signed up to walk dogs and socialize with them. Most of the dogs at the shelter have been abused. It was sad to see so many dogs locked up in their kennels. So I look forward to making stops throughout the week and helping out. It feels good! If you check out the website you can see the pictures of the dogs that they have. Today I walked Charlie a beagle, I also socialized with Apollo a pitbull. The one dog Mistletoe (forget the breed) was extremely scared of people. Everytime a person would walk by he would get really scared and run away. This is probably from previous abuse.
Well, that's all folks! Not too much to report! I will keep you posted on my hip and the dogs.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention! I am not resigning with Jubilee here in Las Vegas! They had the reauditions on January 6th. Basically they have everyone line up on the stage in their g-strings and then you walk up to a mic and say your name. That's the reaudition. But I didn't decided to do line up! Out of the 17 new people that I came in with only 2 of us our leaving. And out of the 18 guys in my dressing room 3 are leaving...including me. I really miss singing. And since I do have an apartment in New York I really want to get back and try to get into musicals again. It has been a great experience here, I just don't know if Vegas was "my calling". So my contract is up here in March. After that I plan on heading to LA for a few days to visit a friend then I will fly home from LA to Ohio for a bit and regroup. I would say somewhere between March 16-22 I will be moving up to New York! ![]()
Okay, I need to head off to bed!
Take care everyone!
