Happy February Everyone!
Let's see....Where to being!
I am no longer 23, but I am now 24! My birthday was on Tuesday January 29th! Last year on my birthday I was in Puerto Chacabuco, Chile! It was a rainy day last year. This year it was sunny!
My birthday was okay. Nothing special really, just another ordinary day. The only thing different is that people were saying "Happy Birthday" all day. I mean, I guess they say with age your birthday becomes less and less of an "occasion", however...I am 24 and IN VEGAS! LoL...Pretty lame, eh? It's okay though, I embrace the dork I am! I also realized that this was my first (I think) official birthday without a birthday cake!?! Ha...I think, I am thinking back to my other birthdays, I know I wasn't always home for them, but I had friends that got me a cake or something...but yeah...I think this was it! It's weird, 24! Almost 25!
Gym Update! I believe I now weight 150 pounds, instead of 145! I hope it is muscle weight! I am now benching 100 lbs! I know that isn't alot! But to me it's alot...especially knowing how little weight I started with! So I am proud of myself. I am still plugging away at the gym. I get there about 4-5 days a week. In the month of January I made it to the gym 21 of the 31 days in the month. So thats pretty good, I think!
Hip Update! I went back and forth, and back and forth on what I should do. I ended up getting the MRI/Arthogram...which ended up costing $2,679.00! I am still waiting to see how much is covered by my insurance...I believe the claim is still being processed! Ouch! But at least now I have some peace of mind and I have a direction. They found out that I do have a little tear in the hip joint! However, I am 80% better than I was in December! Which means I am getting better! I still have slight pain, but the doctor said it probably wasn't the best choice to go in and fix something that is fixing itself on its own. So....I am now just going to start physical therapy to help make the hip stronger. He said that the tear was really small. So, I also wanted to avoid the surgery. So I am happy with that.
I don't know if I mentioned in my last blog but I am leaving Las Vegas! My last day in Jubilee will be March 6th! I will most likely be heading to NY around March 15-25! I don't know if you all know, but I have an apartment in New York. I signed a lease back in July of 2007! I have had someone subletting my room since then. So I am ready to give it a try. It was sort of a hard decision. I am leaving my car, my job, my paycheck, my insurance...I am leaving it all...to jump into having NOTHING! LOL...scary! But I am not happy! Well, I miss singing and I really miss musical theatre. So I don't want to just settle here and get comfortable and not try. I need to press on! Who knows if I don't try!?!
New York Update! I am using my last vacation day this contract to make a quick trip to NYC next week! I will be there Feb 7-9th! I will be auditioning for some shows that would take place this coming summer! I am very excited to be going to an audition! The audition is for a season of shows, a summer season. I will keep you posted on what happens!
Superbowl Update! Well as you know my shows has two shows every night! EVERY NIGHT! Except on Fridays! Christmas Day, 2 shows! Thanksgiving Day, 2 shows! Easter Day, 2 shows! However, for some ODD reason! We only do ONE SHOW ON SUPERBOWL SUNDAY! LOL! Ha! Funny! So tomorrow, we only have 1 show! We will only have our 10:30pm show! So that will be a nice little break. Also, for some ODD reason we only have one show on Monday the 4th as well! We will only have our 7:30 show! So two days in a row with one show! Awesome! Then this Thursday I leave...so it should make for a pretty easy work week for me!
I should be stopping in Youngstown and Pittsburgh before I take off for New York, but I am not too sure of my schedule yet. I need to sell my car, book a flight, and I need to get my taxes done at some point. So alot of that is up in the air right now, but again I am trying to get to NY around March 15-25! So we'll see what happens. I need to get there asap so I can get a job so I can afford my NY rent! Ha!
I don't really have much more to say! Volunteering at the shelter is still going well! I am actually headed out right now to go to the shelter for a bit! I am also taking weekly voice lessons! It's great to be singing again!
Okay, I must run! I hope everyone is doing well up North! I hear there is lots of snow! Not much snow here, just lots of sunshine! Actually, I get in the car alot and have to roll down the window because its hot inside the car from the sun. The air is cool, but the sun is hot. Make sense!?!
