Zuiderzee Museum and Hoorn

June 20, 2008 - Enkhuizen, Netherlands

Today we visited the Zuiderzee Museum and Hoorn. The Zuiderzee, located in Enkhuizen, is a replicated Dutch village from the late 19th century. After we took the train to Enkhuizen (my first time on a train) we took a boat to the museum. The museum was basically a little village with replica homes and stores from the time period. After we walked around for a few hours we got to take a ride on a boat similar to a gondola. After we left Enkhuizen we took the train to Hoorn. Hoorn was a home base for the Dutch East India Company and is the most interesting city I’ve ever seen. (I know, I've only been here for two days) I don’t really know how to describe it because I’ve never seen a city like it, but it was awesome. My lousy explanation does no justice to the fun I had so you should probably look at my pictures to get a better idea.
