Rock On!

June 12, 2013 - Glenwood Springs, Colorado, United States

Who knew there could be so many interesting rock formations? After overnighting in Green Valley, UT, we headed a few miles south towards Moab, UT and The Arches National Park. Many of the rocks in this park took on their own personalities. As you will see in the photos, we saw a sheep, an organ, three gossips, and an unbelievable balancing rock. We also saw several formations that give the park its name.

We left the park and took a scenic byway as we made our way toward Denver. The winding 2 lane road followed the Colorado River through a narrow canyon for 20+ miles. We weren't fast enough to pull the truck to the side of the road to get a good picture of the rafters on the river, but you can pick out the yellow raft if you look closely enough.

We made it as far as Glenwood Springs, CO where we did not find an Irish Pub. We did find the Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company where we were able to tip a respectable pint of local brew.
