Well New Jersey was awesome. I had a wicked time hanging with Rob after so many years. I met loads of great guys (Sean, Stu, Gillo, Adam, Rich, Jordan and all the other Ashleys boys that frequented Jakes but I cant remember) and girls (Cheryl, Amie, Amanda and Courtney). It was a perfect baptism into the USA and I had a wicked time. Rob - you've defo landed on your feet there old boy.
The three-nighter we went on was pretty eventful with everything from a near death experience with some knobhead driving on the left to some great antics in Jakes and Egans.
Not feeling the best, Rob kindly drove me to Newark airport for my flight down, and what a flight it was. Bumpy as hell as we had to fly low due to traffic (not great after a night out). Finally landed at Miami international and taxi'd it to my hostel. Its a pretty lively place and the music pumps til the early hours. Ive been really lucky with my dorm mates who are all cool (including two lads from Greenhead College in Huddersfield, Rob and Couchy Mk 2!).
Needless to say, first thing the next day it was time hit the beach. Living 50 yds from South Beach definately has its advantages, guys you'll know what I mean - there really is a reason its called the Beach for the Beautiful. The heat was just right and the blue/green sea is gorgeous and perfect for a swim. Its a real blessing to have such amazing weather and a phenomenal beach with all you could need from a city just blocks away.
Im off to the Everglades for an airboat tour and a trip to an alligator farm which should be ace. Apart from that, the beach and bars here are more than enough entertainment for a 10 day stay.
