Made it!

How are you all?

I made it! Well I actually arrived 10 days ago now (wow!) but its the first internet cafe that's worked, heehee. I'm back dating things to make it easier to read though.

I was picked up in Trivandrum airport by Austin, a Teaching & Projects Abroad rep and he and a driver drove me to Sivakasi, where the main office is. Well, I say driver......I've never felt in so many life threatening situations within 7 hours!!!

When I arrived at the office, I spoke to the main guy, and we've arranged that I change the order of my placements in India, so I am now going to do Care work for 2 months and then Med starting in march.

In the evening, I went out for a meal with some other volunteers, a girl from England, a girl from USA and two girls and a guy from Germany. It was a really swanky place, and T&P paid so that's good. Ohhh, and I got to ride an autorickshaw!!! (its hard not to fall out!)

I slept in the office building as I was given an en-suite (western toileted!) room - it was sooooo great to sleep in a bed! Well it was great to sleep full stop after the 40 hour trip, 2 nights without sleeping and jet lag!

p.s. no photos yet I'm afraid as I lost my camera within 12 hours of leaving Whitley Bay...I left it on my first flight so its been in Doha for a week...HOPEFULLY I'm picking it up tomorrow!
