Third Week.

March 3, 2007 - Miami, Florida, United States

So this was the first week we did shows without the producers present, and they went pretty well! Training has been kind of annoying, but the teacher is cool, and keeps it short, so i can't really complain. Next week is our last week of any kind of rehearsals. I open my jazz set and my 70s set on Thursday and Friday. Pretty exciting. I did my first backstage tour yesterday, which was fun...ish. Except for when I couldn't subtract 7 from 22...in front of 45 guests. I was asked "how long have you been performing?" and I said, right after informing them that I graduated from college a year ago, "well, I started when I was 7, so...um...about.....uhhhh.....this is why I'm a performer....oh my god, what's 22 minus 7?" and one of the stage staff said "um....15!!!!" Oh well...it wasn't that I couldn't do it, I just put myself on the spot...Anyhow, I have a wicked eye infection right now in both eyes, which has been tons o fun. They itch uncontrollably and puss and puff and pretty much everything else eyes can do before falling out. So i went to the medical center and had this big Polish doctor breathing in my face whilst looking into my eyes with different lights....to result in what? eye drops. wow. there is some medical expertise. So hopefully it'll just go away on its own, but...we'll see. Only time will tell. So that's pretty much life. I'm finding that i just need to be open to every single little thing, and just give myself to everything I have to do, because some of it is cheesy and some of it sucks, but when i step back and look at it, I have a pretty neat job. I finally got off the boat for a few hours this week in Cozumel, Mexico. What a GREAT place that is. I went to a bar on the beach with a pool/swim up bar that had free internet and mexican food, which I have longed for since I left California. It was a lot of fun. Well, that's pretty much it for now, I'll try and post some pictures in a bit...You're all great. i'm gonna apply some drops now, because my right eye is especially juicy, and making it hard for me to see the screen. Miss YOUUUUUUUUUUU!

Are you wearing contacts? I had a disgusting eye infection, making me legally blind for about 2 months. I hope you're not trying to put your contacts back in, and that all your friends reading your Travelogue just got your mother's "motherly" advice!!! Here's what Bausch & Lomb has to say: "Contact wearers suffer from fungal keratitis to potentially-devastating bacterial eye infections as the result of corneal staining."

But otherwise, I LOVE YOUR SCHEEKEN! We have real "SCHEEKENS" in a coup about 100 ft. from our back deck, and contrary to popular opinion, roosters do not ONLY crow in the morning, but rather, all the do-dah-day!
Let's chat later --- luf u!

Well, on the bright side the chances of getting infections in any more eyes is pretty remote. I'm glad you are getting a chance to see some stuff and not letting the cheese get you down. Alicia Kay says "Hi" and that she loves you. We had to make a special trip to her school to bring her pictures of you because she was the mystery student and she had to bring pictures of the whole family. Have fun and we'll talk to you soon. We love you, Greg

eye drops! How strange. By the way, what did you expect, eye surgery, maybe? Have you ever been to an ophtalmologist (an eye-doctor that is) before?
