The last two weeks in Switzerland I have spent visiting some of my guiding lights (I mean good friends who sometimes help me to make up my mind) and working through notes of previous travels and digitizing them for possible future use. This was sometimes surprisingly revealing and uplifting as in the final notes of my previous journey (some three years ago) – it appeared I had left myself a message to help overcome my cold feet at the beginning of new adventures.
Through these notes I came to realize once again that although it will be possible for me to return to Asia and many of the places visited before, it will never be possible to return to that particular “first ever journey in Asia”. In stead there will always be a new beginning.
