About my trip

I am very greatful for the opportunity to take a sabbatical leave starting July 1st this year. As before, I will be travelling in Asia, expecting and hoping to once again enjoy the beauty of the countries and the kindness of the people. But more than that I will be looking for places for retreat and meditation.

For now the plan is still rough, but it is pretty certain I will be visiting India, Nepal and Thailand. Other countries on my mind include Tibet, China, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodja, Vietnam, Japan, Korea and Indonesia, but of course much is depending on local conditions at the time, but even more on just where my path leads me, as my primary goal is not to collect destinations - rather than that I am hoping to once again come home within, which could be anywhere. One could argue that there is no need to leave home in the first place then - which is true, strictly speaking - but in my experience the means of travel and finding the sources of inspiration in this world, helps me to put a level of focus on this inner path that I otherwise seem to be unable to maintain in my "western" life. Human beings are creatures of habit and habits are strong. Eventually I suppose it shall be possible to reach a balance, where the best of "the west" can be integrated with the best of "the east" (to put it a bit over-simplified). When I've found it, I'll let you know
