Day 2 in the gambling capital of the world and Ursh and I headed out on our own to check out the city sights. It was way to hot (yet another 40 odd degree day) to walk up the strip so we decided to catch the monorail up the strip and just get off at the places we really wanted to see.

We took a few photo’s and then spent about 40 minutes trying to make our way back onto the strip after walking out of a wrong door at the casino Ceaser’s Palace…so not impressed.

We were so hot walking in the sun we were about ready to pass out. But gambling a little seemed to make it a bit better, and then we headed off to see the fountain show at the Bellagio which was absolutely incredible. The water shoots up so high and looks amazing, I would have loved to have seen it at night time but it just didn’t fit into the schedule. 1 day in Vegas just isn’t enough. We had 2 nights there, but we really couldn’t get much out of the day time! We had fun looking at a few of the casino’s, the
Paris one pretty cool!!

We met up with the crew to have dinner at Margaritaville, which was like SAUNA CENTRAL cause we were sitting outside, but was still a good steak and veggie dinner.

We were then supposed to head up the stratosphere but it turns our we were in for a surprise. The contiki tour guide had told us on day one that there would be a surprise for $7 which she wouldn’t tell us when it was. Well, it was well worth the $7. Turns out we stopped at a little wedding chapel to, what we thought, have a look inside but turns our was a nice little performance by the one, the only…ELVIS!!!

The ‘Minister” was dressed up in the famous white elvis outfit and sang a few songs, kissed urshies hand (he he) and then performed a fake ceremony with two of the people on the conitki tour. Was HILARIOUS!!!!

We got such a good laugh out of it. He even gave them signed ‘Commitment’ certificates. Well worth it. We then continued on to the stratosphere where of course I had to make urshie go on the rides, just so she would shit herself…and well…..mission complete! Haha. We only managed to get in 2, but my lord did she scream!!! Haha I thought they were a little lame, but I did get enjoyment out of urshies suffering hahaha, im so mean!

We didn’t get much time up there, but we got a lovely view of the city. Its about 108 floors up im pretty sure…so very high. I really didn’t realise how big vegas was….incredible! There was just lights as far as I could see! We had to rush off to see the show Jubilee, which was ok, but I was a little disappointed. I would have rather gone to see Cirque De Soleil ‘KA’ but contiki organized for us to go there so we just went along with it. Ursh enjoyed it that much she walked out to by a beer..hahaha…yeh good fun! Hehe. The little acrobatic dudes they had were cool, but the singing and dancing wasn’t really what I expected, but we had to go just for the hell of seeing a cabaret show. We got out at midnight, Ursh headed to bed, and I decided to blow some more money on the blackjack tables and take a few more photo’s of the night lights before heading to bed for about 3 hours sleep.

In the madness of checking our the sights and gambling, Id totally forgotten to buy some postcards and my shot glasses so I had to get up at 6am to get the last minute shopping in before heading off to the grand canyon…so I really feel like a contiki goer now….with all the lack of sleep! Nice!

All in all, vegas was incredible. It was more than I expected, we had heaps of fun, saw some amazing things and managed to leave with money in our pockets! Haha! I would definitely love to come back….so if anyone wants to get married in vegas, ill come be your witness =)
