Cortez to Albuquerque

July 12, 2007 - Cortez, Colorado, United States

So just the one night in Cortez, nothing to exciting to report there. We had a group dinner at the hotel and then I had fun ringing everyone at home, I got so excited when I got that stupid Gotalk stick working! Woohoo! So then onwards to Durango!Cool rafters Ok so the rafting didn't quite go as planned. There were like noooo rapids!rafting gang It was barely fun for the beginners so that was a bit of a bummer. There was a beautiful view at least, and the tour guide that was paddling decided to jump out the boat for a swim and we decided to leave him behind!Tour guide swimming Haha We grab the paddles and off we went! So cheeky! He had to swim for a bit…and was mighty puffed out by the time he made it back to the boat. Out on the boatBut yeh, the guide basically paddled the whole way so we weren’t doing anything which I guess that was what made it extra boring. Girls at raftingWe had a little walk around the town which was totally cute! Started to rain a bit, which was the first annoying weather we have had since we have been here which is good. It was a very old school looking town, I would have loved to have spent more time looking round but we are on such a tight schedule! We had a Contiki group photo which was in Durango in front of the Rocky Mountains which was a bit of a laugh and then continued on to New Mexico where we spent the night in Albuquerque.
