New Orleans

July 18, 2007 - New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

The wheels on the bus go round and round…round and round….round and round and round and round and round!!!! Another long day on the road towards New Orleans. I didn’t really know what to expect when we got here, I wasn’t sure how much of New Orleans had been repaired since Hurricane Katrina, but the area we are staying in wasn’t hit as badly as what some parts were. We had a city tour which was really interesting, its actually a really cute looking city. We had to go across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway which is a 24 mile long bridge that takes you into New Orleans…it’s the longest bridge in the world! river cruiseWe headed to the hotel and then prepared for the riverboat tour. We got a buffet dinner and a cruise down the Mississippi River which was pretty cool. river cruise me and ellenIt was a really pretty view, and they had the best strawberry daiquiris I’ve ever had….yum yum yum. After the boat tour we headed to a pub called Pat O’Briens which was a pretty nifty little bar.New Orleans Pat Obriens pub the girls They had these drinks that New Orleans are famous for - Hurricane’s (of course) which are the most feral drinks you would ever taste!!! It has about 50 different spirits in there and tastes awful….and would get you smashed after about 2 drinks! Totally yuk yuk yuk! New Orleans Pat Obriens pub the whole gandI then had a wander up bourbon street with our bus driver (cause he could beat the crap out of anyone for me) which was some pretty interesting night life. Although there were a few to many strip clubs for my likings!New Orleans Pat Obriens pub me Mel Antonella ursh
