Our first day in
Paris!!! Well, our luck being our luck, it still continued to rain today so unfortunately it ruined the arvo a little…but we still had an awesome day!

We started off at the Eiffel Tower….which took us just over 2 hours to get up and down the damn thing, there were some pretty crazy lines for the elevators! It was definitely worth the trip though.

I couldn’t come to Paris and not go up the Eiffel tower! After a few quick snaps we hurried down to the bottom…not only to move on to the next site but cause I was freezing!! Yes freezing….the middle of summer here and it was cold and raining! Yay for us! So we get to the bottom and try to make our way to the Louvre by train.

Well that was mistake number 1 for the day! We asked one of the ticket guys at the station where we needed to go and which train to catch, but the French being the arrogant useless (ill tone it down to butt holes) that they are he was absolutely no help what so ever, so we ended up going to the wrong place..like 3 times!

So it took us about half an hour to actually get a train, as we were at the wrong station all together! In the end, we arrived at the Louvre at lunchtime where all hell broke lose. Yes….carnage! There were people EVERYWHERE!! It was totally insane. I mean, I knew it was going to be busy but I didn’t realise it was going to be that bad! It was wall to wall people, it was like walking through a freaken mosh pit! ANNOYING!

So we only lasted a couple of hours in there, checking out the main things we wanted to see, like the Mona Lisa and the Egyptian exhibition, and some of the 17th-18th century art and sculptures and then it was a mad bolt for the exit! Talk about being claustrophobic!! My lord! So we took a nice stroll up to Notre Dame which was absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately….once again….PACKED! There were so many people, the line was that long we couldn’t even get in to have a look! So that was crap. But we got a few nice pics from the outside. After that, we didn’t really have much time until we had to meet back at the bus so we just did a little nick nack shopping…had the most yummiest crepe on the planet and wandered back to the bus! I had nutella in my crepe….god it was good. I have found my new weakness!!! YUM YUM YUM!!!

So yes, three main attractions today, because of the crowds it was a little hard to fit anything else in. We have at least seen things from the outside though….and we got to go around the Arc de Triomphe a few times on the bus…which was truly insane! No lanes, no traffic lights, no signs…just lots of cars and buses all going for it…round and round we go!

All that stuff today took us 9 hours! Yes 9 hours of being on out feet….can you imagine how knackered and sore we are right now! I just want my bed!!! Oh and a foot massage….any takers??
