Ahhhh hot showers, comfy double beds, air-conditioning and a room to ourselves! Boy did ursh and I sleep well!!! Well….the four hours I got were good anyway! Hehe. Im really hating the time difference from back home! You guys are 6 hours in front…so I was up till about 2:40 talking online and then had to be up at 7:00am!! Yuk! We enjoyed a walking tour around the gothic district (which is where the incredible cathedral was) where our tour manager gave us a little history about the place. It was very interesting, and depressing at the same time.
She took us to a church where the outside walls were damaged from bullets back in the late 30’s…bullets that were fired by people forced to shoot other people, their own friends and family…so depressing….it looked horrible. Made me appreciate home a lot more! There was so much interesting history though!
There wasn’t that much to look at after that, so we just did a little shopping...checked out the weird
street performers that had around the place and headed back to the
hotel to get ready for a good night out!
A Flamenco dancing night out!!! We headed to this little pub like place where they gave us sangria (which tasted like crap)
and we watched some traditional flamenco dancing which was really cool. They got a few of the contiki gang involved which was hilarious….and ursh never turns down a good dance so even she got up on stage….not forced by me this time! The video footage will say it all….absolutely hilarious!!!!!!! You cant really call it dancing…but it was bloody funny that’s for sure.
After everyone was feeling a little merry after all the sangria we headed to the pier to grab some dinner before heading home, well I headed home…some of the others partied on but I wasn’t willing to spend 10 years figuring out how to train it back to the hotel when they were done so I jumped back on the bus to go back. Not quite as interesting a bus ride and the first time we were driving around the streets of
Barcelona but still as annoying hard for Phil. Poor guy!
