We spent the whole day driving through Skye, we even drove all the way up the top to Uig, which wasn’t even part of the tour. Our tour guide has been great, he has really tried to get the most out of the tour and taken us to heaps of places that’s no on the original itinerary!
We stopped of at Dunvegan Castle where we heard and interesting story about how this guy used to torture people by putting them in a barrel, hammering nails into the barrel and then rolling them down a hill, repeating the process until they were finally dead….sick hey!
What was actually a funny/nasty story at the same time was a relative of his wanted him killed so he hired a guy to assassinate him. Turns out he wrote out an invitation for a party so he could set it all up, and then sent a letter to the hitman with the details of the time and place….but the guy the poor fellow gave the 2 letters to, to deliver….couldn’t read…..and you bet ya….he accidently swapped the letters and as you can imagine….in the barrel the poor fellow went!
To top it off, after a few rounds down the hill they dragged him out and poured sand down his throat to finally top him off…..sick, but the whole mix up is funny! We checked out the Cuillin Mountains, yet another little bush walk…and then enjoyed the ride home. I love it here!!!
