Un dia en el parque y mas escuela

January 22, 2008 - Barcelona, Spain

On Sunday we had a nice relaxing day and slept in a little bit. We had Lisa and Nicole over again so we could try once again to plan our trips in Europe. It is a lot more difficult than we thought. We want to find the best prices at the best times for our schedule. It is quite difficult. I think we have decided to go to Austria, Germany and Madrid. I am so very excited about going to Vienna, it is one place I have really wanted to go to. We are still in the process of setting things in stone, but I can't wait until we have everything final. We of course didn't want to just sit around all day so we decided that we wanted to go and visit Parc Guell, the park that Gaudi designed and actually didn't finish. When we got to the metro and realized that it was a little farther than we thought so we got off at the metro stop, Arc de Triomf and started walking towards where we through on our bike tour. We ended up at Parc de l'Estacio del Nord with our baguettes, turkey, cheese and a bottle of wine. The four of us just sat down and took in the people and the atmosphere of the city we live in. It was such a nice day in the park and we decided that we are going to try every sunday to go to a different park and just relax. After we got back from the park we hung out and I read some of my Barcelona books. It is a lot more interesting to read about a place you have visited and to learn more about the history of it. We tried not to go to bed to late because of the long day we had of school the next day....
Monday was another long day at school. Even though it is a long day I love it. I love the classes, the professors and the small, homey atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone and everyone is so helpful. At our lunch break we went back to our apartment and ate lunch. We got our clothes for the gym because we wanted to go after school. It is really close to our school and very convenient. We took a toning class at the gym that was so much fun! We loved it because obviously it was a good workout but also because it was all in Spanish and we love practicing. We went to the market after class and bought food for dinner. We decided to make a chicken/vegetable stir fry and a salad. Jess made the vegetables and rice, Ash made some yummy chicken, and I made the salad. And I was SO proud of myself because I made salad dressing from scratch. Some really cool person i know ;) taught me how to make dressing with the ingredients I have in the kitchen. I made it with mustard, teryaki sauce, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper. It urned out soo good and the girls loved it. Overall it was an amazing dinner! We took it easy again because of school the next day...
Today is our short day of school! We went to class and then went straight to the gym. It is so nice to have a gym to go to. We just feel so refreshed and energized and ready for the rest of the day. We came home and made lunch and hung out for awhile. We went to the GSE office to hang out with Jordan, Julia, and Paola (our advisors) because we love them so much! I think I could probably sit there all day and hang out with them because I feel we have so much to learn from them, I love it! I literally want to follow around Jordan on his tours because he knows so much about the city and all I want to do is soak up all the information. He makes me want to learn even more about the tourism here and ways that I can use my degree when I graduate next May. We went to our usual Corte Ingles visit but I didn't need anything, just Jess and Ash. Now I am back at the apartment hanging out and getting ready to go to dinner later. It is one of the girls from our programs 21st birthday so a bunch of us are going to dinner at a really good Tapas bar and then going out for the night. It should be a fun night...
