More adventures

May 4, 2013 - Perth, Australia

Hey there everyone, about time I updated where we are at in our travels around this big beautiful country!

After spending a few days tasting wine, cheese, chocolate, venison, ice cream and lots more in Margaret River we headed up to Busselton. We decided to splurge and stay at a nice Big 4 with a water park, pool and jumping pillow for the boys! We walked the historic Busselton Jetty (Australia's longest at 1.8kms), drove out to Dunsborough and saw some beautiful beaches at Yallingup and Meelup. We also met another family from Perth, Mark, Lydia and 3 kids and hung out together which was nice for the boys to have play mates.

Our next stop was Mandurah although we didn't stay here, we actually just dropped off our van to a dealer to mind and replace our wheels and tyres for a couple of weeks while we return to Melbourne. We then drove up to Perth and stayed with Oscas mate from the desal, Chafic and Sherine and their daughter Nadia. They live in a lovely little federation home In Burswood, 10 mins from the city. We had a great couple of days with them, went in to the city, out for dinner to a Lebanese restaurant and also down to Little Creatures Brewery at Fremantle. We enjoyed a Sunday lunch there while the kids played in the giant sandpit and Osca and Chafic sampled the beers!

We then headed to my friend Julie's place in Coogee and stayed with them for a couple of nights. Zac and Harper were very excited to see their old mates from Inverloch Axel and Peppa!!

So then we had our flight to Melbourne.....not too bad although we were very unprepared and boys did not have much to do...we didn't even have our iPad charged!! And we flew Tiger so no TV!!

We had a wonderful but hectic trip home with many highlights, boys being spoilt by Grandma and Nana and Pa, catch up with many family and friends, bonfire at the Barnsys, cuddles with Megan and Cohen, lots of playtime with cousins Blake, Connor, Nate and Skylar etcetera etc!!!

We also travelled to Rutherglen for Pete and Christies wedding and had a ball. Wedding day was 25degrees and not a cloud in the sky, it was held at All Saints winery (WOW) and Osc did a great job MCing.

Overall we had a great trip but were rushing around everywhere most of the time trying to fit everything in! Boys handled it quite well, although Zac did say at one stage "why are we always out all the time, i want to go back to our caravan!!"

We did have some sad news when I visited our golden retriever Max and found a large lump on his neck. We took him straight to the vets and he has Thyroid cancer. I guess he is nearly 11 years old now cos we got him as a wedding present from Mum and Dad. even though he is sick he is a very happy boy though and is being well looked after by Karen and Dennis. He even had a sleep over at Mum and Dads one night!!

So we flew back to Perth, better prepared this time, with a fully charged iPad and lots of colouring in and books for boys! Stayed a couple of nights in Mandurah and are now at Coogee Beach Caravan Park for the next week. Osc has applied for a few jobs and has a few promising leads so we will have to wait and see, but we are thinking of staying here for a few months and earning some money instead of spending it!!!

Hope you are all well, sorry that we missed seeing some of you (next time!) and will write again soon xxx
