In Manzanita

March 13, 2008 - Manzanita, Oregon, United States

..Let's see...it's hard to bike in thunderstorms! We have been in Manzanita for 2 days now, luckily with the good graces of a friend we have a cabin to stay dry and warm. We're passing the time by imagining what it would have been like starting in the sunny season and staring into the ocean for a glimpse of some blue sky. Nonetheless it's all part of the adventure. Thought about renting a car to drive most of the Oregon Coast and start biking into Northern California, but I think we're going to tough it out and push through that wind and rain.  We checked the 10-day forecast and it shows many showers still ahead. Tonight the plan is to eat pizza, drink some wine, and pray for a break from the weather. If it's impossible to ride tomorrow morning we'll take the one dollar bus to Tillamook, eat some cheese, and bike into our next campground. The Oregon Coast still offers it's beauty amongst the storms....we're anxious to be on our bikes again to enjoy it!!!

Love and miss you all, envy your warm toes!!!
