Gokarna

February 4, 2010 - Gokarna, India

It's still as beautiful as ever here, but is on the verge of being spoilt by Westerners, particularly at Kudlee and Om beaches.  We found an old friend in "Bent Horn", nickname given on a previous visit to one of the many cows who roam the streets of Gokarna.  She (along with an alarming number of other cows) appears pregnant and also has a calf tagging along with her.  The little one is currently "No Horns"... time will tell if that changes!!

We took a stroll across to Kudlee Beach today and plan to make it to Om Beach tomorrow.  The views from the cliff tops are stunning - and on the way from Gokarna beach there is a temple at which there is holy (and purified, drinking) water to be had free.

More on Gokarna to come - hopefully with pictures when I find a USB port!

was unable to read for a few days as we were also away but I really looked forward to reading all about where you were when I got back...It all sounds so interesting but I'm not sure I could cope with the lokal transport....
