A massive thunderstorm prevented us from doing much yesterday. We relaxed at home and then visited the family's rose oil factory in the afternoon. We went to a family friend's house before tea. And that's it!
Today was slightly more productive. Us girls were ready on time to leave for a trek at 10.30am, but Pragya's cousin (who had bet that he would be ready by 10am) did not surface until 11ish. We finally left at 12pm (that's Indian timing for you) and drove up a very steep bumpy 'road' on the other side of the river to the family's apple orchard. We walked for the last bit along a very narrow path for half an hour, and were thankful to reach the wooden hut for lunch. We enjoyed a big Indian picnic on the balcony - more like a crumbling slab of wood. There was loads of food - chickpea daal, bitter gourd, puris (deep fried chappatis), salad (peeled on arrival), bread, Panjiri (a sweet dish) and biscuits!
On the way home we visited yet another temple and did some shopping! And now we are about to drink mango lassi - yes Jo's mum, shopping, temples and eating is all we do!
xx
p.s. Sorry, we haven't had a chance to put the pictures up yet..
