We made it to Paris!

December 28, 2007 - London, United Kingdom

Group One arrived in Paris after a direct 10 hour flight from LAX to London. We changed planes in London and flew 1 hour to Paris. We claimed our luggage and met our tour resource person Sophie Higgins at the airport. We took two luxury coaches to the Novatel, our host hotel and checked in around 4:30pm, Paris time. It was a smooth check-in and we are sharing the hotel with several other performing groups. Many of us liked being able to settle and rest a little after such a long trip. A small group of parents and students took a short trip to a large shopping center across from the hotel by our tour resource person to pick-up some in-room snacks, water and soft drinks. Each room does include a small refrigerator, in-room safe and hot water pot.

Group Two arrived in Paris 7:37pm this evening and is at baggage claim.  We are all now safely in Paris.  This group is led by Mr. Shuler and Sally Larsen.  They should be arriving at the hotel around 9:00 pm. this evening.

The two groups will reunite this evening for dinner and an orientation. Weather is cool in the mid-40's, cloudy with some fog. Evenings will be in the low 30's. The group is excited to finally be in Paris and anxious to eat dinner as one group and be ready for a long Saturday including a bus tour, rehearsal and evening performance.

I posted a few picture from our RCMC Thursday morning check-in. More to come....

Lonie...if you're reading this please call me (don't have your number :-(). I can't get through to my son or husband's room. I am constantly getting disconnected. I tried calling with and without the card. Were you able to get through to Taylor?

I don't get any sound when watching the latest video's. Is any one else getting sound?
If you try calling your child's room, you get put on hold then it disconnects shortly after. It means there is nobody answereing the phone in the room. It disconnects instead of transfering you back to the front desk. The group got back late tonight (well tonight for them).
CARMEN: I left a mess on your voice mail.

You may have gotten the video as I was uploading. I refreshed the videos and tested them here in Paris. All should be working fine with sound.

Hotel does have voicemail in each room. If you get the voice message (in French) and hear a beep, leave a message. (The beep was very soft) Otherwise, before you hear the beep, press zero to transfer back to the hotel operator and ask to leave a message. If you have an urgent message you can contact me at the hotel and I will get the message to them or send an email to me at: rasmit@verizon.net

I hope that helps!

The only thing you get when you are on hold is music. You get no voice mail or beep. It just disconnects you.
Got the sound on the videos working.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH ROB FOR DOING THIS FOR US!!! IT REALLY HELPS WITH HAVING OUR SON SO FAR AWAY.
