A New Week

February 8, 2010

 Hi All,

Well the Roberts' had a fabulous weekend although our legs were a bit worse for wear from all the walking! All well worth it!

Set out on Friday night to go to "Gordons Wine Bar" - a very well known locals joint. You go pretty much underground into a 'cave like' looking room where there are just tons of people packed in. There is crazy busy bar where barmen are just corking bottles of wine. You just order your bottle and they give you the number of glasses you need. The palce is really cosy and also features an extensive cheese menu. So the thing to do is order cheese and baguettes, sit and eat that while you drink your wine. As you can imagine - this is going to be one of our favourite spots to visit! And just across the river from where we are staying.

Saturday was tourist day! Set off in the morning to Camden town where we explored the Camden Market and Camden Lock Market. As you can see the food choices were endless and I sort of didnt know what to do with myself! Jarred tried the roast hog on a panini with rocket and apple sauce and I tried a bit of Turkish cuisine in prep for our trip - all delicious! We then went on to Portabello Road market in Notting Hill which was gorgeous, the sun was out and there were all sorts of stands with antiques etc. Really interesting stuff! Stunning fresh produce stalls as well.. We decided to "Lilly Whites" on our way home to pick up some sporting gear for ridiculously cheap! I got some golf shoes and a putter and Jarred bought an awesome golf bag :)

Sunday we set out to Church in Richmond.. Rosi so kindly fetched us from the station and off we went to LCI. Was great to see Rosi and Bailey and Dave. We also met quite a few of the SA folk who go to LCI which is led by Ryan Matthews from Glenridge. We have been roped in to going to the LCI Valentines Ball next weekend as well which should be fun! Rosi then took us on a little journey through some beautiful Surrey suburbs and we had lunch at a stunning pub on the river - a modern version of the traditional pubs. Beautifully done and was so cosy sitting next to a fire and looking out at the river. Worth a re visit for sure!

Adnd the week begins again.. I should hear today about a job that I went to an interview last week for, also going to another interview in Camden for a different marketing position. So all fingers crossed I might start working tomorrow! I think we are also in for a very chilly week.. eeeek.

Lots of love to you all!
