In order to get the van back to Sydney in time for New Year, we marched on down the coast once again (or rather crawled through bank holiday style traffic) to Coffs Harbour, sadly the weather was rubbish, so we only lasted the night and phoned ahead to a place called Umara about an hour from Sydney to check it was sunny there and on we drove. Very nice wee holiday town, but no surf and a caravan park like Butlins which was completely mobbed, so we only managed to get a site for one night. As we were preparing to leave the following morning, Ruth got chatting to the lady next door about the surfboard and promptly sold it, which took away the question of what we were going to do with it in Sydney.
The next stop was another site just outside Sydney and the last in our trusty camper. I'll spare the details, but dinner that night was an interesting collection of whatever was left in the fridge.
