About us
Nic and Ruth.......Intrepid Explorers!
After waking up one Tuesday morning and wondering what else we'd like to do apart from go to work. We decided to sell everything and get on the road! After a couple of weeks of deliberation, we couldn't think of a single reason not to go, so we started gettting organised!
About our trip
Up, up and away........
The tickets are booked and we fly on the 20th of October!
Dutifully waiting until after Claire and Stephen's baby arrives, and Pauline turns 30......we're outta here!
Basically we want to go everywhere (except Asia, Ruth's not allowed back there!). So we are just going to fit in as much as we possibly can in a year. Check out the map page to see our route though South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America, Central America, the United States and Canada. The only stipulation is that everywhere we visit must have a corresponding song, allowing Nic to sing her way around the world!
We plan to take some amazing tours along the way, including a cruise around Cape Horn, Trekking through the Amazon, following the Inca trail to Machu Picchu and Sea Kayaking through the Galapagos. Check out the links section, on the right hand side of this page, to see details of all our tours.
Thankfully, most of our family and friends are still speaking to us and we hope that lots of them will pick a destination to come and meet up with us on our epic journey. Anne and Alan (Ruth's Mum and Dad) have already booked to meet us in Melbourne. Lou and Ruth are coming to Vegas and San Fransicso and hopefully lots more people will manage to get out to join us.
