Perth & Margaret River

April 10, 2007 - Perth, Australia

Jodie arrived at the airport to collect us... 12 hours early!... A bit of a misunderstanding... 11pm, not am! And very confusing when I was phoning her from NZ to say the plane was leaving on time and she was waiting in Arrivals!?
Anyways, when we final arrived she was back again.. Spent the night in Perth then had a gorge brekkie on the beach at Cottesloe and cruised down to Dunsborough, taking in the sights.. Then me and Jodie got stuck into the beers.. In preparation for the next days' Margaret River wine tour!?..
Fortunately we weren't too hungover the following day and drove to see the Valley of the Giants - forest of Tingle trees - where there is a huge suspended walkway. Hit the local pub for some food and beers and then ended up doing a jigsaw puzzle until 3 in the morning!? (crazy cats!?)... We'd even stopped talking to each other at about 1.30am!
Spent the final day around Margaret River's sights and then head back up to Perth, where the lovely Mike & Mel let Jodie (and us!) stay in their gorge house.
The next few days Jodie showed us around Perth - Scarborough and City Beach and then to Kings Park for a wander and a good view of the city... Jodie also had tickets for West Coast's first home game as 06 Champions.. I was lucky enough to accompany her for beers and a win!
