When in Rome...er...Athens.
January 28, 2008 - Athens, Greece
Well, besides being super tired, I'm glad to be off airplanes and in Athens! Spending 8 hours in a plane isn't my idea of fun, but the Frankfurt airport thought that I should have some more fun. After an awkward pat down, they decided to search through all my luggage and check my laptop for drugs...it was more fun because they were telling me what to do in different languages! They are unhappy people in Germany...maybe it was because it was 530 in the morning, but still...well, I had window seats all the way, so that sort of made up for it. Our flight to Athens was cool though because we got to go on a bus ride on the tarmac and see all the planes being worked on and whatnot. Then we boarded the plane just like in the movies. It was sweet. So now I'm in Athens, and we're at a quaint hotel right next to the Acropolis. AMAZING! We took a hike up a hill to look over the city and at the Acropolis, but it started to rain and we all got soaked. It's ok though, it's still around 40-50 degrees : ) and no snow. And we even got a rainbow. A good start to the adventure! Until next time!
