Earthquake!
January 29, 2008 - Athens, Greece
So about two seconds ago, the entire room was moving. No, I haven't been drinking...we're pretty sure it was an earthquake, people down the hall felt it too. Weird. It also snowed today! The mountains are covered in snow, and there was a small flurry in the city. We were in class, and we heard people shouting and yelling outside. We looked and saw the snow and we were like, "Snow?!...Wha?!?..." It was pretty funny. We walked around a lot today around the Acropolis, and then split up and wandered around. Liz, Sam, Christina, Brock, Eric and I went and got some lunch and people tried to make us buy things. Brock, Eric and I went walking again up a hill and saw all of Athens, even to the sea! It's so amazing! We even passed Socrate's prison on the way up. It's interesting to see the city too. There are only a few skyscrapers, the rest are all no more than about ten stories I would say, and almost all have balconies. A few even had swimming pools on the roof! A lot of houses also have solar panels. We saw a lot of those on the bus ride to Athens too. Christina then joined us again and we went to a cemetery. We saw a funeral procession which was very long, and tried to read the greek tombstones. There were lots of gorgeous statues on a few tombs, and some you would walk down into where the coffins were. Most of them were family tombs too, so they had 4 or 6 coffins together. The cemetery itself was massive and it was interesting because when we found the protestant section most everything was written in english. Next is dinner, then homework!

Um, so I looked at your last post about the drug check. I hope you stashed it where they couldn't find it ; ) Remember what I said about wise choices!

Get used to it! Ever since the stronger one on January 6th, the tectonic plates are going to keep on moving.
