March 14, 2010 - Oban, United Kingdom

Weather: Wonderful. Sunny. A little rainy.  Warm like spring or early summer for Montana :)

So finally I have some more pictures!  I guess I usually don't write anything unless I have pictures.  Anyway I took an awesome train trip up to Oban which is in the lower part of the Highlands.  The train ride was really cool; you go through all kinds of countryside and lochs and places where there's snow and ice still on the ground.  I also saw some huge boats and highland cattle!  I got a picture, it isn't the best, but it's pretty good for from a car window :)

I've gotta say though I've really been homesick lately.  It's been almost 7 months that I've been away. It doesn't seem like it.  I've been trying to think of what I want to do next, and I really don't know.  I want a job that will make things better for other people. But I don't know where or what to do.  Hopefully things will come together soon.

As always, I miss everyone and look forward to hearing from you!  Love and hugs!!!

Good day to you, darlin'! :-) Thank you for the beautiful pictures and yes, envy sat in once again. It's hard to believe that you've been in Scotland for 7 months; where has the time gone.

I'm sorry the homesickness bug still has a hold of you. Don't despair, though, it's normal (or at least I think so). I sometimes get homesick for Minnesota and then when I go to visit family amongst the sticky humidity and icky bugs, I can't wait to get back to Montana. I'm not sure what that has to do with you and your homesickness but maybe you need to come home for a stretch to see what you want to do and where you want to be. I'm not sure that is feasible for you either. You're young and I'm sure at some point it will come together for you. If it's any consolation, I'm 53 and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! :-)

It's sunny and gorgeous today. Yesterday was cloudy and kind of rainy. My husband, daughter and I went golfing in Three Forks this past Thursday. The weather wasn't as warm as I would have liked it but it was fun to be outside and being able to golf again.

Work continues on as work has everyday. Things seem to have slowed down a bit but as long as they keep wanting me to come back every day and pay me the same; I will continue to show up. :-)

Thank you again for the pictures and update. I was thinking about you this weekend and thought if you hadn't send a blog, I would shoot you an e-mail.

Take care of yourself, little one and hang in there. You'll figure it out and it will be great.

Love and hugs! B)

Jaimie, wie gehts!

Gorgeous pictures! It's pretty rugged over there, isn't it? I'll have to get in a lot better shape than I'm in now if I'm going to hike the highlands.

I know about homesickness. Even after three years I still miss Washington. Maybe you need to come back for a visit. We'd love to see you, and maybe we could take another canoe trip or even hit the beach this year. Who knows, maybe if you come back you'll be homesick for Scotland! From what I've seen in your pictures it's a beautiful country, and you keep talking about how friendly everyone is. But after working so hard you need a break--something completely different, and that's why I brought up the beach and stunt kites. Sometimes it's while you're unwinding that it comes to you what you really want to do in life.

Anyway, I wish you the very best in life. And if I don't see you here I guess I'll have to plan a hiking trip over there. Take care, Jaimie. You're in my thoughts and prayers always.

Hope to hear from you soon. Love and hugs,
Aunt Sandy
