Day 29-30 Nusa Dua, Bali - Singapore

August 4, 2008 - Singapore, Singapore

Day 29 - Club Med send off....

This was our last day at Club Med - we spent our time sunbathing, S and J had a cream bath hair treatment at the beauty salon, we all indulged in a little shopping in the boutique, and enjoyed a family dinner with new Australian friends. We have had a wonderful time - for D, P and C this was their first Club Med stay - and they loved it! Just the right mix of relaxation, delicious food and drink, social events, sports activities and entertainment and as P said on the way to the airport - it is so easy to make new friends at Club Med !

Our extended Club Med family gathered to send us off and with some last minute msn addresses  collected we were taken to the airport for a late night flight back to Singapore. Our trusted minivan driver Tony was waiting for us upon arrival and took us safely to Club Josee's where we will spend the next three days.

Day 30 - Singapore

A late morning after a very late night (2:30 am before we got to ged). It was great to have milk, peanut butter toast and pop tarts for breakfast. We headed off for a self-guided tour through Little India, then headed to Orchard Rd for lunch and some last bits of shopping (P and C had spotted some limited edition runners when we were first here and  they have been such great travellers that we felt they had earned the reward (40% off sale did help with rationalization as well). This evening, S and J enjoyed manicure/pedicures. We are heading off to the Clarke Quay for a boat ride out  to view the famous Merlion (symbol of Singapore) in its splendor at night.

The city is in all its colors -as everyone is preparing for its National Day, Aug 9. We have witnessed some "snowbird like" jets practicing as well as some fireworks in preparation for the grand event. We will miss it - but the rehearsal has been entertaining.

Everyone is relaxed, and looking forward to taking in the last of what we can fit in over the next couple of days.  It will be hard for us to leave J behind and make our way back home - but then again - we still have Seoul to discover and enjoy.
