KARIBUNI NYOTE!

February 27, 2013 - Mombasa, Kenya

This means “Welcome you all” in Kiswahili.

As you may notice, I’m using the English language. I don’t have to rethink everything in German and everyone understands me. It would be a waste of time to write everything twice.

One month now. I’ll write one entry per month. I don’t want to spend too much time on the internet. It makes me homesick. I hope you understand.

Our group of volunteers (8 young people from all over Germany) met at the Frankfurt International Airport. After a long time up in the air, we set foot in Ethiopia. We had to wait 3 hours until we could continue flying. One stop in Arusha (Tanzania), before we reached our final destination – Mombasa. It was hot! And still is very hot! And this whole year it will be hot. It is hard to imagine the heat while being in a cold country like Germany. But believe me, it’s no use to wipe the sweat off your face. It’ll be back in no time.

I hope you enjoy reading my entries. They are long, beware. And Thank you for your interest and support! I mean it. Thanks to you all. Asante sana.
