SUSAN:
Hey peeps and peepsies,
It's me again. Davoodic is nowhere to be found. I think he has reached a higher spiritual plateau and is spending his days in quiet meditation ( i.e. sleeping), this time under the cool breeze of the fan in our beautiful guest bedroom.
Well, here we are in Goa! Anjuna Beach, to be exact. We will tell you more about the details later. For now I'd just like to say that this morning, as I was floating in the ocean, rising and falling with the gentle waves, buoyed up by saltiness of the warm-cool water, watching the orange sun rise behind the giant palm trees, I felt like an unborn babe softly cradled in the uterus of Mother India. And then I thought, holy sh*#, this place is really getting to me: I'm becoming a flower child. Pretty soon I'll be hanging crystals off my body and seeking guidance from a dreadlocked guru telling me I am from another planet (by the way: YES, there are people here that fit this description exactly).
Actually, for now, I think Dave will be my only Guru. While I am freaking out about the weird rashes on my body, infected mosquito bites, sunburn, runny poo, and the caste system, he is totally chillin, as cool as a long skinny cucumber in the ridiculously hot sun. His main concerns these days seem to be a) catch the perfect wave to body surf, b) sleep. Sometimes I'll be chattering on about this or that part of the culture and how freaking crazy it all is and he'll just raise his hand calmly and say "Shh. I am meditating." And then I look around and realize that we are actually in a really beautiful place and damn it, I should be meditating too.
And he has really wise sayings too, that reflect his enjoyment of the simple things that I am missing out on being so damn philosophical about it all. For example, walking out of the bathroom, having sampled the local hygiene methods: "I just sprayed water at my butt. It felt pretty good." And, hugging his knees to his chest before bobbing face-down in the water: "Sometimes I like to pretend I am a coconut".
I think I have a lot to learn.
Go Goa!

we have sprayers here in japan too, but they're meant for spaying the squat toilet bowls down after you've done your dirty business. they're pretty powerful sprayers, not to be confused with bum sprayers (that is unless you're like this one particular fellow who mistakingly used the sprayer to clean his arse, and afterwards remarked on the pleasant power of the "bum gun"...anyways, keep the updates coming! (david: i'm going to pretend i'm a coconut tomorrow).

Dear David! Butt spray! What a bright idea!My dreams are coming true!I have to find out our portable dog shower tube and hook it up to a tap in my bathroom. Imagine, how much money I am going to save! I was about to install an expensive marble French bidet, or a Japanese bidet/style toilet with high-end wireless control panel with 38 buttons (I am lost with 2), some of them even play music to relax the user's sphincter. Please, I need a picture of an Indian one. Love Vadim.
