Well, the flock has landed, and although it's a tad chilly by Miami standards, you won't catch us winter-weary Iowans complaining.
No trouble getting to our hotel, the Hyatt Place, in a Miami suburb named Doral. In case you're interested, the hotel is about 17 miles from Sun Life Stadium, where the Super Bowl is currently being played. Things seem pretty dead around hear, since everyone is probably at the game or home glued to their TV set.
We had a super meal at an Italian restaurant, Carinos, just a block or two from the hotel. It's so great to see green growing things again. Beds of colorful impatiens, swaying palm trees. Just great.
We put on jackets and sat by the outdoor pool awhile, enjoying the fresh air until the chill forced us indoors.
Tomorrow we meet our Destiny!
