Bon Voyage!

February 9, 2010 - Nassau, Bahamas

We could complain about the cold down here in Miami, but I think our Midwestern friends and relatives would probably string us up if we did. The locals are complaining about the coolness, but we sure aren't.

We took a shuttle this morning to the airport, and then another to the cruise ship.  All went very smoothly, and we boarded the Destiny with no troubles.  Our cabins are only two apart.

They had a wonderful lunch ready for us, since we couldn't get into our cabins until 1:30.  Sharon had her first of many Diet Cokes, and proclaimed the pizza and chicken as "mighty fine".  We did some exploring of the ship, which is a real monster (holds about 3000 passengers).  Had plenty of tropical drinks and beer.  Met lots of fellow Midwesterners, just as sick of winter as we are.  Sailaway was at 4:30.  We stood against the deck rail watching Miami fade slowly into the distance.  Once you leave port, the wind increases noticeably, and we got chilled enough to head back to our cabins.  Our luggage had finally been delivered, so the gals are busy putting everything away.

If you're wondering who "Boomer" is, it's Jeanne.  Thanks for the tip Dorothy.

Today's Cruise Toast goes out to Joe, Jayme, and Terry!

By the way, we love Jeanne's black cape - it was Guttenberg Mark who thought she looked like Zorro!

Until next time...
