Just my Luck!

April 21, 2008 - Beijing, China

You wouldnt be beleive me unless I was writting this here but you would not beleive the amount of bad luck I have endured! Seriously when I thought it was all sorted I woke up to an even worse morning today. So I thought id be good and organized and this morning was up early to get things ready for the flight this afternoon, went off and printed out my Visa letter to take with me at the airport to claim my Visa.

Only to read the actual letter and have this sickening dread pass over as I realised it had the wronf passport number written. Could you beleive it?!! Of all the things to happen now I realise that the visa has been processed with the wrong passport number, how on earth they managed to talley the number they had up with my name God knows but they some how did. So back to looking at the clock again I realised it was 10am and I was flying in 7hrs!

Got on the phone to Ronan in Veitnam to see what he could sort out and he sounded as gutted as me, what more could possiable go wrong? He said he'd try to get it done by this afternoon but I wasnt holding out. This was a nightmare, I had to be on that plane this afternoon, I cant afford anymore hiccups. So I took things into my own hands and headed to the Embassey myself to see if I could do anything.

Trying to explain where you want to go to a taxi driver that doesnt speak any english while watching the minutes slip by is not fun, not fun at all!! I tottaly forgot that they really dont speak any english here and didnt write down 'Veitnam Embassey' in Chinesse so it was like trying to explain to a brickwall! They dont even know the name of the country that is attached to them Vie-it-nam! It was a nightmare even with my passport out and me showing the motions of stamping it and pointing at the vietnam flag we still got horrendously lost and I decided to bail ship when we'd gone mile from where we were supposed to be and he'd began to get more and more irrate. By now Id missed closing time and was on to the next plan.

I have at last managed just this minute to sort it all I think, mind you I thought that last time and still a cant beleive what happened! I have changed my fligtht to tomorrow afternoon now to give me a little more time if my visa didnt come through from Ronan to sort something out. However, it has at last come through, touch wood all there and correct this time so now we try round two tomorrow and see what happens when I actually get to Veitnam but my God will I be glad to get out of China this time!
