Well I have a job, yeahy! But its been less than a week and already im questioning why??! I was up the other morning making eggs on toast for me and James before we both set off into the city and seriously, i was watching the toast and thinking, I ate this yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that! And im going on the same route into city, doing the same jobs as i did yesterday, and this is only day 5!! Well its not the job at all, really its just the whole mundane thing that we all do day in day out to get by. Its strange, when I was away I was gagging to get back to work, a bit of normality and now the repetativness of it all is doing my head in! Surley there's more to a day!
Anyway, moving on! The job at the pub, The Turf Bar, is great. All the staff are really friendly if not a little crazy, im still getting used to the brash and basic sense of humour here again! The food is simple and i feel like Ive fitted in quickly and picked it all up pretty quick. There is a definate difference here with drinking though, the usual type of clients we get in is a busy lunch crowd as there are a lot of offices around us. So we get lots of 'suits' and buisness lunches going on and I swear i never sell anyone less than two alchoholic drinks with their meals, is this normal?! This one guy I sold 4 Jack Daniels and cokes, at LUNCH! Id be on the floor after 2 and he was planning on going back to work! It seems though this is a normal thing to do here, everyone has a few drinks at lunch then pops back to work, strange!
Caroline has left me (bo ho!) she left melbourne this morning and is heading out on a short trip down the Great Ocean Rd eventually getting to Adalaide and then flying to Perth on Sunday. She is trying to go for her sponsourship so she can stay here permanently and i hope she gets it. Its weird I dont think its quite set in yet that the person ive spent over the last yr with i might not get to see again!
I move into my new flat at the weekend, backpacker style still with 8 to an appartment! But its really nice, got a pool, gym and tennis court and Ive already met half of the girls that live there because im taking my friends room when she moves out. Its right close to the city which is handy for work.
