Hi all
Finally found an internet connection that works - in the Business lounge at the airport. Trust German efficiency. I make no apology for any spelling mistakes as this keyboard has the Z where we have Y and delete, comma etc are all over the place.
Left Mykonos at 7am this morning then Athens which was a nightmare and staying 2 nights in Adu Dhabi before getting home on Saturday.
Greece really is fascinating but oh so frustrating. They are totally disorganised and casual about everything so it is no wonder that their internet rarely works. I certainly haven´t been able to download any picture but will do that at the week-end and post them as my last entry. I have over 400 and some are picture postcard perfect.
Mykonos is rocky and barren with quaint towns and again we all had to go to a Spa where we were plunged into 4 pools all with different weird mixtures in them. An hour later we felt terrific. We hired a car and gamely drove around the island. The Greeks would have to be the worse drivers. They admit that they never obey any rules - on or off the road and the streets are really alleyways as they were built that way to deter pirates (got lost as we did) and to stop the 4 winds blowing through. They all drive over and pass on double lines and stop signs are to be laughed at. Out of all the people we saw 1/2 were gays (gay capital), 1/4 were friends or groups and 1/4 were couples. Everything is very expensive here, more so than any other island. Each night we spent at least $250 on dinner (no drinks in that). great shops but pricy too. Of course that did not stop me buying up big. Left with 16K´s and now 26. I think I forgot to mention before that no-where in Greece are yuo allowed to put paper down the toilet. There is an open bin in each cubicle for paper. That took a bit of getting use to!!!!
Ok must fly as they are about to announce my flight. Seven hours to Abu Dhabi. Will post again either there or at home.
