Ah, Paris.
History, great food, the Parisians, the Siene, Notre-Dame…
Paris is definitely another place I would recommend everyone visit in his or her lifetime.Statistically, the small city of Paris has 8 million tourists yearly, in relation to the large country of Australia that has a mere 3 million. This means that although their main language is French, as long as you learn a few key phrases like “I want (to go)”, “please”, “hello” and “thank you”, you can surely make your way and have a great time.
I would say that a week of sightseeing all of the museums, historical buildings, tours, and eateries is at the least. Only one day there and I feel I barely touched the surface. The 4-hour Segway tour was a great way to get a feel for the city, but only being in Paris for 11 hours left me craving for more. Although I was able to venture through the streets of romantic architecture, I longed to experience the actual artifacts of all the museums.
In comparison to London, Paris was still very European in the sense of clothing and style; also in their transportation. I used the “Metro” plenty of times finding my way around the non-grid streets. Motorbikes and bicycles were everywhere, but with a normal amount of vehicles also. Many people take buses in London, but I failed to note in Paris if any were in use other than for tourists.I’ve made a short video of my trip to Paris, and also posted a few pictures. Be sure to check the video out now, and I'll add more pictures later this week. I’m signing off for now. Scotland waits to be graced by my presence.
