Good afternoon,
As scheduled, I arrived in Atlanta at 1PM today. My flight left on Friday evening - 7:45PM (Vietnam time); Friday morning 8:45AM (USA time). The plane ended up going to Bangkok first and then to Paris, France. We encountered a lot of turbulence on the way to both places but thankfully the plane made it in one piece - though it sounded like it was going to split in half. One item that I found curious is that all the flight attendants from Bangkok to Paris were males. Additionally, before the plane left Bangkok, apparently by French regulations, they had to fumigate the plane even though all of us were sitting in the plane. The flight attendants just walked around the isles spraying insecticide. While they were doing so, another flight attendant explained what was happening via speakers and he assured us that it was not detrimental to our health. Right?!?!? Where have I heard that story before?
In Paris, we had to go through a long ass check point to get to the gate. Thankfully I had three hours to spare, so I was not running out of time like other people. Once I got to the gate, I had to go through another security check point because I had arrived from Vietnam. The flight from Paris to Atlanta was not pleasant. There were several children screaming and one that puked herself to almost death and needless to say they had to call the paramedics when we arrived. We had to wait for them to go in the plane and take her out.
Though it took almost an hour to get out of the airport in Atlanta (had to go through four security check points) because I was questioned over and over again what I had brought into the country, I am glad the experience is over and I am back home.
Let's get together some time to talk about Vietnam while drinking some tasty Saigon beer!
Cheers!
