So it is Sunday 8:14am and I already feel the anxiety level rising quite high. Did not sleep well last night, only slept about four hours or so (same as the night before). This morning I woke up thinking about all the packing that I have to do this morning and on top of that, it is Pride Parade Day in Atlanta. For two days in a row, I dreamt about how funny it would be if I were to get to Vietnam and my luggage is no where to be found. I see myself laughing in the dream but I am sure that would not be the case if it were to happen in real life. I just hope the Vietnamese people are nice to 6'3" tall guys sitting at the corner of their airport crying.
The flight leaves around 1130 in the morning and it is a direct flight to Seoul, South Korea - a 14 hour and 50 minute flight. I hope I don't get sit next to children...specially loud and obnoxious ones. That would certainly make for an interesting flight. I have a 4 hour and 30 minute layover in South Korea but I am looking forward to it as Cathy S. told me that the airport is amazing and they have a lot of cool stuff to do while waiting for departure - even arts and crafts...who knew? I will finally get to Vietnam at 1110pm on Tuesday. I've read horrific blog stories about the taxi-cab transportations from the Vietnam airport to the hotel but at least I am ready for them. Thanks for the heads-up once again Cathy.
The main event going on in Vietnam at the moment is the Miss Universe pageant. Apparently the delegates have been traveling all over Vietnam and they were just in Hanoi a few days ago. I am looking forward to seeing what all the city did for their visit.
I am including some links today provided by Cathy S. from her last trip to Vietnam. The sites look fascinating and amazing. Hope I will get the change to do at least a few of those things during my visit. Cheers!
