Wantzloebens Continue Touching All The Bases

July 11, 2011 - Crossville, Tennessee, United States

Hello Dear Friends & Family,

Just wanted to give all of you an update on our "Touching All the Bases" adventure.  After really enjoying the last baseball season visiting 19 major league parks  and Rosenblatt Stadium (College World Series) in the East, we had all intentions of continuing our adventure to the 9 ballparks in the West this season in our RV. However, the more we watched the price of diesel increase and thought about driving on the California highways, we decided we would revise our plans and continue our adventure via airplane!

So during the week prior to Memorial Day, May 23-28, we flew to San Diego, rented a car, and visited PETCO Park in San Diego; Angel Stadium in Anaheim; and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Today I have posted the first of three entries and photos -- PETCO Park.  The others will follow over the next few weeks.  I invite you to enjoy my musings and stories as I share my love for baseball.

Play Ball,

DeBe & Ken Wantzloeben

Always liked San Diego, and its bustling, still layed back demeanor. Took Teddy Kennedy into Navy North Island from DC one Friday afternoon, buttoned up the jet, and went to the old ball park--great times... So, when are y'all going to do Coors Field? We'll meet you there.

Wonderful writeup of PETCO. Makes me want to go there and see a game but only one trip to the west allowed for this year. Pictures were just great and you two look great. I still think there is a book in all this. We will discuss this in the fall over a mint julep. Judy says Hey !!
