Were at the post! Julie wins again!

July 29, 2008 - Fargo, North Dakota, United States

Wow.. what a great past 4 days.  The blues festival was amazing.  great music and we met lots of fantastic folk.  We arrived at the festival site on thursday(a day early) but there were also lots of people set up already.  A fantastic setting on an island on the Mississippi.  It was actually founded (the town) by french canadian fur traders. and the site of  a british victory in the war of 1812.

A great evening of music on the froday but we had to get up earlt on Saturday morning so Julie could participate in a 5 mile race.  After 3 weeks of eating and lying on the beach she came third in her age category!  She's quite happy about it (as she should be).  Anyway, like I said we met lots of great people and we were invited to Stillwater Minn.  where we stayed with a fantastic guy names Lee and also hung out with his friend (who was also at the festival) Pat.  They had an AMAZING fireworks display last night to end their Lumberjack festival.  It was a fireworks display like we have never witnessed.. all timed with music as well.  Anyway.. won't be home until late tomorrow so will likely touch bases on wednesday.

Love ya all

wayne

ps... this hotel has a workout room so guess where Julie is.  As for me..I have a LOT of beer to drink if I'm going to avoid paying Duty!!

great news that you will be home later today--however it means that we will have to rush with house makeover. it was trevors idea to paint your bedrooms the same colour as the outside of the house---hope you like purple and pink??? sorry we couldn't get any dark green eaves--so we just put the old ones back up--patched the holes in the eaces with regular putty cause the stuff they advertise on tv couldn't get here until next thursday. i think you will like your flowerbeds julie--the colours in the artificial flowers are better than the real ones that,by-the-way, we had a real tough time digging up and throwing out. this will save you a lot of work this fall. it was davids idea to get rid of the deck and pave the whole back yard so you guys can park your cars close to the house whenever he isn't using the pad for hockey--the sheet of plywood over the sliding glass door will prevent any destruction of things in the kitchen from your van backfiring or pucks. the bill for for the cement will be coming soon, but you have thirty days--just about when you start working again wayne. david warned us that randi will probably get sick when she first sees it, but says she gets used to things pretty quick. luv dad
